Goal Setting

Still the best kept secret of success

  • Purpose of the program:

  • Goals are a part of everyday life. We are told that, to be successful, we must have goals. However, we are not taught how to set a goal or even what a goal actually is. This workshop is designed to help participants formulate personal and / or business related goals.

Creative Problem Solving

Getting Unstuck and Finding New Solutions

  • Purpose of the program:

  • Solving problems in a creative manner can be the key to a more productive and satisfactory life for workers and managers in organizations. Problem solving is not easy for most people. It is like a journey into the unknown. It begins with a perception of a need for change or else that something is “not quite right” and moves through a series of thoughts, feelings, beliefs, interactions and solutions.

Creative problem solving is as much as art form as it is a scientific process. It requires creativity, intuition, and imagination. It also requires careful analysis, diagnosis and step-by-step action planning. This program is designed to enable participants to learn and apply concepts and techniques related to an integrated approach to creative problem solving. Although it focuses on individual problem solving, group problem-solving approaches are also highlighted.

Developing a Vision

It takes a Team

  • Purpose of the program:

  • a manager and his or her team design this program for use. The activities it contains are intended to bring a more cohesive focus to a team’s mission and how its members will work together to accomplish it. The program can be easily conducted by the manager or team leader rather than by an outside facilitator.

Two central considerations underlie the program. First, people must have a common purpose or objective as a team in order to coordinate their actions continuously. This purpose includes understanding the relevance of the team’s work to the larger organization. Second, healthy and effective teams reaffirm all team members as caring, respected individuals who matter and make contributions to others. While this consideration may seem obvious, it is frequently lost or neglected because of preoccupation with “getting work done”.”

Team-building activities minimally should address both of these considerations. This program is an opportunity for team members to build healthier, stronger relationships with one another, to reaffirm their collective purpose, and to plan steps to improve team effectiveness.

Enhancing Established Teams

Strategies for Team Development

  • Purpose of the program:

  • This program is designed to enhance team development in established work-teams. With business and industry more and more on team participation to meet quality standards, the ability of teams to work effectively is critical to success. In order for intact teams to develop successfully and become productive, members must have a solid understanding of their team’s group processes.

This training program helps team members assess their styles of interaction as well as their level of team development. These are key assignments that established teams need to consider before they can achieve maximum productivity.

Effective Listening

Better Relationships and improved results

  • Purpose of the program:

  • The biggest part of our day, working or otherwise, is spent in communication, and the greatest percentage of that communication time is spent listening. All of us have taken courses in writing and speaking, but how many of us have had training in listening? This training program, people will become more aware of the importance of listening and will gain insights, tools and skills that they can apply for their continuing improvement.

The program is for anyone who has a need for improved listening skills.

Communicating in Teams

Skills that make a difference

  • Purpose of the program:

  • Research has shown that teams can out-perform individuals in planning, problem solving, and decision making, but only if they have methods to bring their ideas out in the open and discuss them creatively. Communication is the vehicle teams use to get their work accomplished. When teams work well together, ideas flow freely among the members and conflicts are surfaced and managed. When teams are not working well, often it is because team members are not communicating well.

The goal of this program is to help participants develop their capacity to communicate in a team setting and to develop skills in solving common team communication problems. It can be used with intact teams or with a group of individuals from different teams.

Appreciating Diversity – A Window of Opportunity
  • Purpose of the program:

  • Each of us comes into the world of work with features and ways of behaving that are the products of our cultural differences. Cultural uniqueness is viewed by some as important and valuable in the workplace. Others find cultural differences awaken feelings of discomfort, uncertainty, and fear. The communication process can be both a barrier and a bridge to effective interactions.

Most research suggests that our work worlds are going to reflect an even greater degree of cultural diversity than previously experienced. Maximizing and capitalizing on workplace diversity is the challenge for employees in the future workplace. The ability to interact and communicate effectively across cultures is emerging as the number-one interpersonal skill of our time. Toward this end, this program is designed as an introductory experience in building effective interaction and communication in diverse groups.
